Colosseum

COLOSSEUM, PALATINE HILL AND ROMAN FORUM, THE CORE OF ANCIENT ROME’S LIFE

The Colosseum had 80 entrances in its prime time. This way all the visitors could easily enter the building for the exuberant gladiator fights. The Romans were masters at crowd management for their time. 50.000 inhabitants was the maximum amount of people that could have fit in the Colosseum and that amount consisted of all the society layers. This was possible because the fights were free to attend.

Next to the Colosseum, there are the Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum. The Palatine Hill is the highest hill of the 7 that Rome was built on and offers stunning views over the Roman Forum, which lies 40 meters away. The Roman Forum is the best place to truly immerse yourself in the Ancient City, nowhere else can you imagine as vividly how the Romans used to live
